As a female sports fan in a male dominated sports world it
is often hard to gain some respect.
I've been asked "What does a girl like YOU know
anything about sports?"
"Do you like him because he's cute?" Why do all
men think that it's okay to assume that girls like sports because of an
infatuation with a player?
Guess what BOYS? YES, I'm a girl and I LOVE SPORTS!
Yes, I do like to watch a good episode of Grey's Anatomy
with a box of tissue and enjoying a glass of red wine. But I do as well enjoy a
Sunday full of SportsCenter and back-to-back NBA or MLB games.
For me,
sports go beyond the idea of victory or defeat. I love sports because no matter
what our differences are, it brings people together as one. If our favorite
team wins, we celebrate the victory in thrill, if they lose, we feel the agony
of the defeat.
So it’s
pretty silly for anyone to assume that a girl can’t be passionate about sports.
Ladies this
blog is for us. Stop the cleaning, cooking, and watching over the kids. Get to
the computer and share your stories, opinions, and juicy gossip on your
favorite teams and leagues here. Ladies this is our opportunity to give a fresh
